Galaxy S26 Pro leaks hint at upgraded display, larger battery

Samsung is reported to replace its flagship smartphone series with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series that may feature a new nomenclature. A Chinese source, which appears to be reliable, states that the lineup will consist of three variants: Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The initial leaks of the latest Galaxy S26 Pro variant have surfaced, indicating that it will emphasize improved display and battery.

Significant upgrade in a familiar form factor

The Galaxy S26 Pro, which should replace the standard Galaxy S25 model, is said to have a 6.27-inch screen, a slight bump from the 6.2-inch display of the Galaxy S25. This implies that Samsung will shrink the size of the bezels, providing a roomier viewing experience without drastically changing the phone’s overall smaller footprint.

The phone is also rumored to include a bigger 4,300mAh battery, a considerable 300mAh boost over the 4,000mAh cell of the Galaxy S25. This battery enhancement has been confirmed by several sources, implying it is a high-chance alteration. Though the “Pro” title is novel for this form factor, the rumored specs suggest that this device will be the successor to the regular Galaxy S line. Samsung probably is introducing the “Pro” designation to make it consistent with the rest of the family and to further highlight its high-end standing.

Looking ahead to future of the Galaxy S26 Series

Apart from the S26 Pro, other leaks are revealing more information regarding the entire Galaxy S26 series. There is a rumor that all variants, including the S26 Pro, will feature an additional NFC antenna at the top of the phone. This is a subtle yet significant addition that would improve mobile payments and file transfers to be seamless and more stable, similar to iPhones.

The phones are likely to be powered by either the upcoming Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy chipsets. Leaked Geekbench scores indicate a significant performance improvement for the Snapdragon chip, and this is likely to be one of the main selling points for the new series.

The Galaxy S26 Pro is also tipped to come with 12GB of RAM and have up to 512GB of internal storage. The series is also likely to feature Qi2 wireless charging with internal magnets, which would enable improved alignment and faster charging. These leaks are thrilling, but keep in mind that everything is subject to change. Assuming these rumors are accurate, though, the Galaxy S26 series would be a significant step up for Samsung, with good upgrades and a fresh direction for its flagship phones.
