Samsung has officially introduced the 8TB version of its flagship 9100 Pro M.2 NVMe SSD to the US market, a highly anticipated addition for enterprise users and professionals with demanding storage needs. After its initial announcement alongside the 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models earlier this year, the 8TB model is finally available for purchase.
Samsung’s new 8TB 9100 Pro SSD features
This latest SSD is built on the M.2 2280 form factor, featuring the advanced NVMe 2.0 protocol and PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. It utilizes Samsung’s proprietary V8 V-NAND TLC technology and a dedicated controller, delivering exceptional performance: sequential read speeds up to 14,800 MB/s and write speeds reaching 13,400 MB/s. It also achieves up to 2.2 million IOPS for random reads and 2.6 million IOPS for random writes, positioning it as an optimal solution for intensive workloads such as 8K video editing, AI processing, and high-end gaming.
The 9100 Pro 8TB is offered in two variants to accommodate diverse user requirements: the standard model at $999.99, and a heatsink-equipped version at $1,019.99. Both are now available via Samsung’s official channels and authorized retail partners.
For organizations weighing the investment, the 9100 Pro 8TB provides robust reliability, with a 4,800 TBW endurance rating and a five-year limited warranty. Power consumption is also noteworthy, with the drive drawing 10.5W during reads and 8.8W during writes.
With the launch of the 8TB 9100 Pro, Samsung further cements its leadership in the high-performance SSD sector. While competitors are also introducing PCIe 5.0 drives, Samsung’s latest offering stands out for businesses and professionals seeking a single, high-capacity SSD that excels in both speed and dependability.
