Samsung is stepping up its game by extending one of its most advanced AI features to a broader range of its foldable devices. Following the release of One UI 8.0 for the Galaxy S25 series, the company confirmed that the Gemini Live AI assistant is now officially available on FlexWindow cover screens for both the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Flip 5. Previously, users had to rely on additional applications like Good Lock and MultiStar to unlock this capability. Now, it’s seamlessly integrated into the system, allowing for a more streamlined, hands-free user experience.

With Gemini Live, users interact with an AI assistant in real time either via the device’s live camera feed or its screen and receive immediate responses and support. On the FlexWindow screens, this level of functionality marks a significant shift. By simply holding down the side button, users can quickly take notes, set timers, create calendar events, search for information, or point the camera at an object to get instant feedback.
This upgrade transforms the cover screen from a basic notification display into a dynamic tool that enhances productivity and connectivity. Where previous versions, like the Galaxy Z Flip 6, were somewhat restricted in terms of app functionality, Gemini Live’s direct integration represents a considerable leap forward. Samsung is clearly demonstrating its commitment to optimizing software in alignment with its innovative hardware, ensuring users no longer need to manage third-party applications to fully maximize their devices’ capabilities.
The rollout of One UI 8.0 to the Galaxy S25 series signals just the start of this enhanced approach. Samsung has announced plans to extend the update to other flagship devices, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Flip 5, in the near future, solidifying its position at the forefront of meaningful AI integration within the mobile landscape.
