Samsung has introduced its new Gallery Assistant app, available exclusively for devices running One UI 8. This move aligns with their ongoing strategy to offer advanced features to users on the latest hardware, while also streamlining the main Gallery experience. By separating advanced editing tools into their own dedicated app, Samsung keeps the core Gallery app uncluttered, allowing for more targeted feature releases.
This is Samsung’s new Gallery Assistant app
Currently, the Gallery Assistant beta is live only in South Korea. Eligible users, specifically those with a Galaxy S25 device, Z Fold 7, or Z Flip 7, can access the beta by registering through the Samsung Members app. As One UI 8 rolls out to more devices globally, compatibility should expand accordingly.
The app’s primary advantage comes from its batch editing capabilities. This enables users to apply consistent edits across multiple photos and videos simultaneously, significantly improving efficiency for those dealing with large volumes of media. Additional features include subject extraction from up to 20 images at a time, the ability to add custom watermarks to multiple items at once, PDF conversion for photo collections, and a side-by-side view mode for easy comparison.
While still in beta, the Gallery Assistant app clearly signals Samsung’s intention to provide powerful, modular editing solutions for its users. Details regarding global availability are yet to be announced, but a stable release is anticipated in the near future.
