Exclusive: Galaxy Tab A11 will use the same processor as Galaxy Tab A9

Samsung is getting ready to launch its upcoming budget Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab A11, with some interesting internal hardware information already surfacing. As per the latest code revelations and regulatory listings, the tablet will utilize a MediaTek processor with known lineage the MT8781 and has been seen in 4G model.

Galaxy Tab A11’s processor revealed: MT8781

Recent code analysis of Samsung firmware has indicated that the Galaxy Tab A11 will be equipped with the MediaTek MT8781. This may seem like a new chipset at first, but it is effectively the same in terms of performance as the familiar Helio G99. MediaTek uses two model numbers for the G99 platform: MT6789 and MT8781. Both provide the same specs, which implies that Samsung is recycling the same chip used in its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab A9.

This choice indicates an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and familiarity over a performance boost. Users can still anticipate the same degree of processing capability and battery optimization that defined the last generation.

Galaxy Tab A11 clears FCC, 4G, and battery specifications confirmed

Along with the chipset details, the Galaxy Tab A11 4G model has also cleared the FCC with the model number SM-X135G. The certification indicates that the tablet will be equipped with a 4,980mAh battery — relatively modest by today’s tablet standards, but probably sufficient considering the chip’s efficiency and Samsung’s software optimizations. In the meantime, a Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G version has also been officially tracked via regulatory databases. Specific hardware information regarding this more premium version is not yet known, though. Samsung will likely separate the two models with connectivity and perhaps a display or memory boost, but nothing is official yet.

What is next to expect?

As this initial information emerges, the Galaxy Tab A11 is looking like it will be a refresh more than a reinvention of Samsung’s budget tablet lineup. The recycling of the Helio G99-class MT8781 chip indicates that Samsung is focusing more on stability and cost rather than raw innovation. That said, the fact that there is a 5G model may provide additional value for those seeking quicker connectivity.

Additional details, such as display size, camera configuration, and price, will probably surface as the launch date nears. For the time being, shoppers of affordable tablets can look forward to a recognizable but proficient device as Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A series update for 2025.
