Samsung Electronics has launched its latest Movingstyle Edge display in Korea. It provides a new method of experiencing home entertainment and smart living. It comes with a floor stand with wheels, which makes it convenient to move a 32-inch 4K smart display around the home.
The Movingstyle Edge is powered by Samsung’s Tizen operating system. It is positioned to rival other mobile smart monitors, such as LG’s Smart Monitor Swing. This display provides a flexible solution for active living spaces and smart home experiences. Its design emphasizes versatility, allowing users to enjoy high-quality visuals and smart functionality wherever desired.
Display Specifications and Adaptable Design
The Samsung Movingstyle Edge revolves around a 32-inch VA display panel with a crisp 3840×2160 UHD resolution. It has a normal 60Hz refresh rate and a 4ms Grey-to-Grey (GtG) response time, which is good enough for various content consumption. The screen has a typical brightness of 300 nits and offers 10-bit color depth for vivid and precise color reproduction. Its color gamut spans 72% NTSC, which is a good enough range for general media consumption.
There are two versions of the Movingstyle Edge: Standard and Light, which vary in the flexibility and shape of their stand arms. Both models feature up-to-date wireless connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2. With such strong connectivity, the display is capable of streaming all sorts of content effortlessly and even has Apple AirPlay for convenient content mirroring from Apple products. Aside from entertainment, the Movingstyle Edge is also meant to serve as a central control hub for Samsung’s SmartThings universe, allowing users to control their smart home devices right from the display.
Better Features for Smart Living
Continuing to augment its intelligent features, the Movingstyle Edge also features an Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) function. This smart technology is able to actively adjust playback volume in response to the surrounding noise levels in the room, so that audio is always clear and audible even in active environments. The design also addresses functional considerations like concealed cable management, to ensure a tidy and clutter-free look, and the ability to install a shelf bracket for the easy placement of remote controls or other small devices.
Currently, the Samsung Movingstyle Edge smart display is available on the official Korean website for 675,180 Korean Won. This translates to around 3,485 Chinese Yuan according to the current exchange rate. With this price tag, the Movingstyle Edge is positioned as a premium and versatile choice in Samsung’s smart display lineup, targeting consumers looking for entertainment options that will easily complement their connected homes.
