If rumors are true, then Samsung does indeed have plans to keep its Fan Edition series alive as it had promised one new model per year after the absent Galaxy S22 FE last year.
As per *TheElec*’s report, it is going to be thinner than the Galaxy S24 FE, which stands at a thickness of 8mm. Although exact measurements are not confirmed as of date, some speculation puts it at as thin as the base model of the Galaxy S24, estimated at 7.6mm. To get that, much tweaking of the internal design would arguably be required.
Slimmer Body, Wider Battery?
One of the most interesting leaks might be that Samsung can use a wider but thinner battery to help shave off extra bulk. This is a common tactic in phone design and involves rearranging the internal components-skipping the main circuit board, mainly. Given that for any end-user, battery life usually tends to be a crucial factor, this might allow the S25 FE not to sacrifice endurance for aesthetics.
Screen Size & Design
The Galaxy S25 FE is also rumored to pack a 6.7-inch display, quite similar in size to the Galaxy S24 FE, itself an increase over the Galaxy S23 FE’s 6.2-inch display. The bigger screen is matched with an equally larger battery-reputedly 4,700mAh in the Galaxy S24 FE.
At this point, it remains to be anyone’s guess whether the S25 FE will carry the same battery capacity or whether Samsung will do further enhancements to make the battery life a bit top-notch in spite of the reduced thickness of the phone.
Samsung’s FE Strategy
As a rule, FE models had to balance a number of premium features with more affordable prices. Due to some compromises that allow Samsung to keep costs down and thus appeal to the mass market, these models offered flagship-level performance at a more Economical level. After taking a seat out of the S22 FE, Samsung returned to form with the S23 FE, while now there’s an upcoming S25 FE, signaling an end to this fan-favorite line.
What to Expect
While there have been no concrete details regarding the Galaxy S25 FE, fans can be only assured that Samsung will continue to up the ante with its design. Based on previous history, the S25 FE might be an all-around good package for a competitive price, while others may desire near-flagship performance without seeing a need to break the bank. Considering Samsung’s capabilities for innovation and its overtly eager fanbase in the wait for this next iteration, it means the Galaxy S25 FE is setting up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
