Just consider the fact that Samsung support has long been notorious for distributing incorrect information about release dates of the upcoming One UI beta, and now the Indian support crew seems to have entered deep waters with an estimate of certain dates when One UI 7.0 beta may be pushed for the Galaxy S24 series.
The Alleged One UI 7.0 Beta Schedule for India
A customer service representative, in a statement that was provided recently, said that the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra users in India would receive three One UI 7.0 beta updates within the coming weeks. Here are the dates that have been given by Samsung India:
- The first One UI 7 beta update is reportedly due to roll out today.
- The second update is due on December 23.
- The third update will be released on December 30.
Precisely, these dates have become important because they reflect the beta update schedule for users of other regions, including Germany, Korea, the US, and the UK. Correspondingly, the first, second, and third updates for users in those countries fall on the second, third, and fourth updates, respectively, for the Indian market.
Skepticism Surrounds the Update Timeline
That does sound so promising, except that there is one cloud-a chance-that these dates would be realized. History has it that Samsung has not been a fan of beta update rollouts; many times, things get caught in delays, even as the customer service representative suggested some setbacks could be possible but unsure if these are realistic promises. These dates were announced by the Samsung customer support itself, and since then, it has certainly raised excitement among users awaiting the One UI 7.0 update. It would only disappoint them further the moment these updates get delayed for whatever reason.
The provision of such tentative dates by Samsung may not be the most prudent thing, as that raises expectations that are more often than not unfulfilled. This will perhaps serve as a lesson to Samsung in the future that being cautious with respect to communicating update schedules is an effective way to avoid frustrating its user base unnecessarily.
While the One UI 7.0 beta updates on the Galaxy S24 series are expected with bated breath, one should of course be very skeptical every time a timeline is delivered by customer support. Speaking from experience, Samsung had been very fond of late releases, and delays with beta releases are almost always certain. It’s best to stick on the safer side whenever such dates pop up, but let’s hope these dates are indeed correct.
